Preparing for Your Meeting — Parent Questions

Is Ladybug Academy the right fit for my child’s learning needs?

Every child learns differently, and finding the right educational environment depends on their strengths, challenges, and goals. Ladybug Academy is designed to support diverse learning needs through individualized attention, structured virtual instruction, and experienced leadership in special education. While many families discover our approach aligns well with their child’s development, the best way to determine fit is through a guided conversation. That’s why we schedule each family with a certified special education teacher — to listen, understand your child’s needs, and help explore the most appropriate educational direction moving forward.

What information should I prepare or bring to the meeting?

It’s always helpful to prepare for any meeting so we can make the most of our time together. If available, you may wish to gather relevant materials such as medical or developmental records, past evaluations, or an Individualized Education Program (IEP). An IEP is a formal plan developed within the United States public education system that outlines a student’s learning needs, goals, and support accommodations; terminology and systems may vary in other countries. While sharing these documents is entirely your choice, we highly recommend providing any information you feel comfortable sharing, as it helps us better understand your child’s needs and guide a thoughtful discussion toward the most appropriate educational path.

What does a typical learning experience look like for students?

Ladybug Academy provides an online homeschooling support environment built upon our proprietary SEHAP™ framework — the Special Educational Homeschooling Assistance Program. This approach brings students with learning differences together in a structured virtual setting that mirrors the consistency and community of traditional schools, while remaining fully online. Guided by certified educators, students participate in a supportive learning community designed to foster confidence, belonging, and personal growth. Our focus is on helping each child feel capable, valued, and encouraged as they progress along their educational journey.

How does the enrollment or membership process work?

As a Private Membership Association, Ladybug Academy works exclusively with members rather than operating as a public customer-service model. Participation begins through a membership-based process designed for families who share similar educational goals, values, and commitment to supporting their child’s development. During your meeting, we will walk through expectations, answer questions, and explain the steps involved in joining the community. This approach ensures that families who move forward are aligned with the mission, structure, and collaborative spirit that guide our learning environment.

What costs or commitments should I expect?

Ladybug Academy uses industry-standard encryption and privacy safeguards to protect member information. Parents maintain control over account access, class recordings, and data sharing, and we do not sell student data. In terms of participation, our core classroom tuition is structured around national private school averages — approximately $23,000 annually — aligning more closely with general private education rates, while specialized private special education programs often carry significantly higher costs. Ladybug Academy offers partial and full private scholarship opportunities, and parents who choose to contribute within the community may access roles that provide compensation of up to approximately $25,000 per year. Any additional costs that may apply are clearly disclosed and reviewed prior to a family choosing to become an official member of the Association.

LadybugAcademy.org is a public informational website only. Ladybug Academy operates exclusively in the private domain through a Private Membership Association (PMA).
